Community Fitness Infrastructure

A proposed network of free-access calisthenics parks would make community fitness more accessible across Kenya.

Discover talent. Build discipline.

MMA training is the starting point for wider opportunity.

PLANNED PROGRAM

Planned: our community fitness park model is in the design phase; parks are not yet open.

THE CONTEXT

Movement should be for everyone.

Paid gyms and uneven access to facilities can exclude people who would benefit from regular physical activity.

What are the program objectives?

  • Design a practical, low-cost outdoor fitness model.
  • Build land and county government partnerships.
  • Work towards two pilot parks in 2027.

Sport is the starting point for wider opportunity.

How will the program work?

Identify pilot counties, seek suitable land and develop partnerships for construction and long-term stewardship. Bodyweight exercise equipment would support the free-access model.

Who is it intended to support?

Communities without accessible public fitness infrastructure, including young people unable to afford gym membership.

What outcomes are expected?

We aim to develop two pilot fitness parks in 2027. Construction and opening dates depend on land agreements, funding and delivery partnerships.

YOUR QUESTIONS, ANSWERED

A little more clarity

Are the fitness parks open?

No. The model is in the design phase. We will announce locations and opening dates as plans progress.

Will access be free?

Free public access is the intended model. Locations and operating arrangements are still to be developed.
